This closure is subject to change, due to weather or construction schedule. We expect this to be the last scheduled closure in 2019. Construction of the Northbound I-79 bridge will occur in 2020.
This project involves the complete replacement of two structures carrying I-79 over North Boundary Rd. in Cranberry Township, Butler County. The project goal is the expedited replacement of two currently deficient structures. The southbound bridge will be replaced in 2019 and the northbound bridge will be replaced in 2020. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained on I-79 at all times using a cross over to a temporary bridge located between the two existing structures. Traffic will be maintained on North Boundary Rd. at all times with the exception of short-term weekend closures for bridge demolition.
