Fresenius Kabi, best known locally as a kidney dialysis service, is actually a global health care company based in Germany that specializes in medicines and in a variety of technologies for infusion, transfusion and clinical nutrition. Its plant in Thorn Hill Industrial Park assembles many of the company’s medical devices. Earlier this year it received approval for a 6,600 square foot expansion which was never built. But on November 1, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors gave its approval to the company’s conditional use application for an even larger expansion of 12,250 square feet to augment its light manufacturing operations on Commonwealth Drive.
