The body of rules controlling the protection of state and local waterways from contaminated stormwater has continued to grow, with new audits, inspections, management practices and training requirements tied to the renewal of Cranberry’s state-issued permits, Waterworks Coordinator Tim Schutzman reported to Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors on February 26. As part of that report, more than 25 students from Haine Middle School, with guidance from teacher Allison Stebbins, reviewed a series of local issues affecting the quality of Cranberry’s streams and groundwater.
