There are currently four Camp Bow Wow kennel locations in the Pittsburgh area and, if its application for Conditional Use is approved by Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors on February 5, there will be one more – in a 10,500 square foot space on Commerce Park Drive, near the Township’s Municipal Center. At its January 29 meeting, Cranberry’s Board accepted public testimony regarding the applicant’s request for approval. Jordan Murray, the owner of three other Camp Bow Wow franchises in the area, described the offerings which include both daycare and longer-term boarding services for dogs – referred to by the company as Campers. Each dog is ‘interviewed’ prior to acceptance at the facility. Facility features would include indoor and outdoor play areas, large individual cabins, online Video Cams, and even a handful of luxury suites complete with windows and TVs. At the hearing, representatives of a custom compounding pharmacy immediately adjacent to the proposed kennel site expressed concerns about possible incompatibility of the two businesses.
