PennDOT requirements for road improvements associated with the new Bishop Wuerl North Catholic High School at Franklin Road and Rt. 228 require land which currently belongs to the Cranberry Commons shopping center. Cranberry Township is in negotiations with the shopping center’s developer about acquiring easements for approximately 7,800 square feet of property at the eastern end of Cranberry Commons. At their December 11 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors approved a motion authorizing the Township’s Manager and Solicitor to use eminent domain in acquiring the needed highway easements.
