What is a Planned Residential Development (PRD)?
A Planned Residential Development (PRD) is a form of neighborhood development. It is similar to a subdivision, but it allows higher density and more flexible setbacks than standard subdivision zoning. In exchange, the PRD developer must dedicate public open space, provide certain amenities, and meet established design standards.

What Township Ordinance regulates Planned Residential Developments?
Chapter 27 (Zoning), , Part 9, Chapter 22 (Subdivision and Land Development), and Chapter 17 (Public and Private Improvements Code) are the three primary ordinances regulating PRDs.

Can I open a no-impact home-based business in my home?
Yes. However, home-based businesses are regulated and the types of home-based businesses permitted in the Township are limited. Please see the Township’s No-Impact Home-based business web page for additional information. Note that some Homeowner’s Associations restrict or prohibit certain types of home-based businesses; they should also be consulted.
